Located on a massive basalt, the Rupea Fortress was built on the foundations of the Dacian fortress Ramidava. In the area, there have been found dwellings dating from 7500 years ago!
According to legends and historical hypotheses, Rumidava or Ramidava would be the place where King Decebal would end his days, not to endure the humiliation of capture by the invading Roman army.
