Farah is a 12-year-old girl, who lives in an unfinished building, which is cold, dirty and has mice and scorpions creeping around.

Syria has been in a civil war for the past 5 years. 12,2 million Syrian people are depending on humanitarian aid. 92% of the Syrian refugees are given shelter in the 4 neighboring countries. 250.000 of them have found refuge in Iraq. Over 50% of the refugees are children. The majority of them have not been educated in the past 5 years...

In December 2015 Stichting Vluchteling and VR Gorilla worked together to film this series of portraits in Kurdistan, the Northern part of Iraq.

I have to say that world peace is a problem that many developed countries now disagree with. In another place in the world, many innocent children are suffering from the radiant war. May God bless them, and hope that the war will rest.

I don't know how to say. It makes me a little sad. I wish god will keep these children from suffering.

At twelve years old, like a flower, the poor girl suffered from such a life. I wish the bloody war could disappear forever.
