From Malcesine on Lake Garda, take the new cable car to Monte Baldo (1 800 m) and hike or bike a day. The view of the lake is incomparable and the area is perfect for beautiful walks in the mountains. In winter you can also go skiing here! In the area, some geological and prehistoric findings have also been made of great interest. Monte Baldo is sometimes called "Europe's garden" for the species-rich plant and wildlife. More than 60 different orchids bloom on the slopes between March and August, depending on the height they grow on. Other plants include edelweiss and wild peony. Among the wildlife living in the area are the eagles, red woodpeckers, peacocks, pheasants, tombs, foxes, ferrets, moths and gems.
