The “Feast of Drunken Dragon of the Fish Industry” is a unique traditional festive event of the Macau Fresh Fish Traders. The tradition originated from the Xiangshan District (now Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Macau) in Guangdong Province hundreds years ago. It have been recognized as National Intangible Cultural Heritage. The “Feast of Drunken Dragon of the Fish Industry” held on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month every year. The festival's main event starts in the morning, next to Kwan Tai Temple (near Senado Square), from where groups of drunk men dance their way through markets and lanes, while waving wooden dragons' heads and tails, parading through the streets of Macau.

@二起来连自己都怕 舞醉龍源於廣東香山縣。來源有兩種說法: 一為在200多年前的浴佛節那天,一個和尚來到香山縣一條小河邊洗澡,剛脫下衣服,一條大蟒蛇就直奔過來。那和尚拔出寶劍,把蟒蛇斬成幾截,丟在河邊。這時正好來了個老漁翁。只見漁翁似醉非醉地抓起蛇頭,又搬來蛇尾,胡亂地跳起舞來。這一舞,竟使那條蟒蛇死而復生,變成了一條龍,騰空而去。 另一種說法是,當時流行瘟疫,鄉民求助佛祖,抬著佛像路過河邊時,河中突然躍出一條大蛇,遭鄉民砍斷後血染河水。鄉民喝了河水除病祛瘟,都認為大蛇是龍的降凡,便創造出舞醉龍以紀念。
