Christmas Crib Cathedral Speyer, Germany.
In the run-up to Christmas, many people visit Speyer Cathedral with the aim of finding some peace and reflection here in the hectic pre-Christmas period. The Domcrib is a special starting point. You can follow the structure from December 6 onwards: first the big trees and the pedestal, then the plants and the architecture, in the days immediately before Christmas already a few animal figures. Traditionally, however, the nativity scene will not be completed until December 24th, when the Holy Family arrives there. The cathedral nativity scene is located near the main portal, at the western end of the southern aisle, where it will be on display until 2 February.
