The carnival parade in the university town Gießen, Germany, takes place on the Sunday before Rosenmontag ("Shrovel Monday").

The video was taken #upintheair with an extension stick 7m above the ground, as drones are prohibited at gatherings.

@Sascha Endlicher, M.A. For now, there are more and more people focusing on taking pics not enjoying the interests.

@Audrey Nadeau That's funny! In the past, everybody used to scream, but in recent years I noticed that people are more and more hesitating to do so and instead they focus on collecting sweets.

@madmaddy 1235 Did you grow up in Germany? Anyway, I share your experience. When I was in elementary school, I was always sick at that time of they year and could never see the parades! So I'm glad you could see it now! :)

I really like these colorful cars, although I never had a chance to see the real parade when I was a kid.
