Chicago's Humboldt Park was founded and dedicated to esteemed German naturalist and explorer, Baron Freidrich Heinrich Alexander Von Humboldt, in 1869. The park was partially designed by William Le Baron Jenney, 'Father of the American Skyscraper', and later Jens Jensen, Superintendent of Humboldt Park during the 1890s.
