Looking out on the Susquehanna River from Columbia, Pa. These footers once held the longest covered bridge in the world as is spanned the mile wide section between Columbia and Wrightsville. One of the two bridges these footers held was set ablaze by Union Troops during the Civil War to prevent giving the Confederates from gaining a valuable and strategic foothold to the north.
