Galway Cathedral - Stone Swan of Corrib lit by moon. Construction of the 'Ard-Eaglais Mhaighdean na Deastógála agus Naomh Nioclás' began in 1958 on the site where the former city prison was located. Galway's most dominant building at the Salmon Vier on the river Corrib was completed in 1965, making it the last great stone cathedral to be built in Europe.
