hmmm at least a short article you find in Wikipedia https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanzmariechen When my husband did prepare me for carnival i saw in wikipedia this picture and i did make also fotos and clip for it. The "Funknmriechen" will be pushed #upintheair and fly betwheen 3 and 5 meters. There are hundred of girls. it looks exteem when the 360 is approx in the middle of the pushing hands and in the sky the girl. here in the photo you see the girls make a break.

Thanks for the heart to @Missouri Kessler I gues you come from USA so i will you and @Craftyazz explain a little history. First cheerleaders was announced in 1898 And this was allways men and never women. And its a realy sport with fight and rules now. This is a German dance sport only and only for carnival with real hard championships. From History its a figure like the military sutler or vitualer. And in Germany this historical figure does appear as Marketender in the 18th century inside the carnival in the rhineland area so in towns like cologne. The official name for this historic figure in carnival is "Tanzmariechen" means Dancing Mary. And as so often the nationalsocialists under Adolph Hitler with their favour for suggestive marketing did decide to enjoy the german soldiers and did decide to change the role to womans acrobats.
